Jerry McCullough Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jerry Nathan McCullogh Sr.

Jerry Nathan McCullough, Sr. was born on October 28, 1938 to the Late Norman and Whalie McCullough in Kingstree, SC. His family moved to Andrews, SC at an early age where he received his primary education.

It was also in Andrews, SC where at just 9 years old, he met the love of his life, His Tenda, His Killa and on March 23, 1963, his wife Annie Mae McCullough who preceded him death. This union was blessed with 4 children, whom they raised together. Annie was the enforcer and Jerry was the provider.

We don’t want to neglect that Jerry worked hard to keep his family with the best of everything. He was a tailor, owned an upholstery shop and his own general contracting company before he settled into his work at the New York City Housing Authority until his retirement. Jerry was skilled craftsman. He often bragged about how he helped his father build the house that Annie grew up in. Jerry shared his skills whenever he could with his children, nieces and nephews and many others, you just had to ask.

Of course, Jerry accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, blackslid and then reaffirmed his faith and commitment. Jerry received his Bachelor of Divinity from the Community Bible Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He also served as an Associate Minister at the Jesus Saves Ministries and an usher the Mt Ararat Baptist Church. Jerry was gifted with prayer and healing.

Jerry LOVED Music!!! He was often found strumming his guitar and singing songs, mostly ones he thought of in his head. Any car ride over 20 minutes included some singing.

As his heath declined over the years, Jerry never lost his sense of humor. He would of course start laughing before he could finish telling his story, but his laugher was infectious. He also never lost the ability to pass out a nickname. No need to try to know your real name. All his children have a nickname based on an experience that he had.

On April 10th, 2018, Jerry departed this earth and took his rest. He leaves to mourn his children, Jerry Sr, Tamatha, Sophia and Correy. Two sons-in-law Willie and Robert, two daughters-in-law Sandra and Sandy. His beautiful Grandchildren and Great-grands. His sisters- Hattie and Lorraine, Brothers, - Thurman and Dennis, and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and both McCullough Family Legacy and the Brown Family Legacy who will cherish him forever.
