Myrtle G. Penny was born May 2, 1932 to the late Herman Penny and the late Carolina Price Penny in Selma, North Carolina.
Myrtle worked at the Red Apple Truck Stop and Nelson Good Food in Selma, North Carolina before coming to New York.
In 1973 Myrtle went to work at Ogden Allied Aviation Service at J.F.K. Airport Jamaica New York as a Food Handle. She brought with her the knowledge she had acquired about food preparation from her experience in North Carolina.
After working there over twenty years, she retired May 31, 1994.
Myrtle was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and served over forty-seven years on the Senior Usher Board. She retired from the Usher Board in 2011, however, she would still help out if needed.
She tried to do her best to aid the sick and shut in. She would call them, the ones she had addresses to, she would send a card. She would visit the ones she could and put a donation in a card if she was able. She said if she could help somebody while she were here on this earth, then her living was not in vain.
She never complain, she always said she feel find. She was always grateful and said God been good to me and He still Blessing me now.
Myrtle leave to cherish and celebrate her life
