Norma Pelham

Our beloved Norma Pelham of Brooklyn NY was called home on December 19th,2024. She was born on May 27th, 1938, in Vanceboro North Carolina to Parents Johnnie and Ida Williams. Norma was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her quiet strength, intelligence and kind spirit.

She grew up in Vanceboro, where she attended Vanceboro elementary school and later graduated from New Bold high school. Norma was beloved for her sweet personality and sharp mind, excelling academically throughout her schooling. She was well-loved by her friends, peers and faculty.

She loved her family and community in Vanceboro, which was shown by her long-lasting ties and love in the community. Shortly after becoming a young woman, she met her husband, the late Alonzo Pelham Jr and the two soon migrated up north to New York City. While in New York this marriage blossomed two beautiful children. Paris Antonio Pelham and the late Priscilla Demetrius Pelham-Morse. She was a cherished and devoted sister to her siblings of Blood and Love. Robert

Lee Williams, Johnny Williams Jr. Esther Williams-Wright, Roger Gray Williams, Linda Williams and Nellie Geathers. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Alonzo Pelham Jr and daughter Priscilla Pelham-Morse. Norma is survived by her son Paris Pelham, son-in-law James Morse Sr.

Her grandchildren Raheem Chalmers, James Morse Jr, and Janell Morse. Great grandchildren Dylan Chalmers, Ascir Samuel, Alonzo Chalmers, Ameer Samuels, and Milo Mitchell. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Norma’s Gentle spirit, intelligence, and warmth will forever be cherished by her family and all who were fortunate to have known her.
