Rhonda Crocker-Hughes was born on December 17, 1961 in New York, NY to the late William Stewart and Whilmenia Crocker. Her childhood was spent in Severn, NC before moving to New York City at the age of 10. After a lengthy illness, she went home to be with the lord on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 7:44 p.m. At an early age Rhonda joined the Center of Hope and Deliverance, under the leadership of Pastor Mittie Lewis where she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Martin Hughes and Rhonda were joined in holy matrimony on September 29, 2018.
Rhonda received her formal education from Adlai E. Stevenson High School. She enjoyed Track and Field, chorus, and cheerleading. Rhonda attended Mercy College and enrolled in the Masters Degree School Psychology Program. She chose a career in the world of financial management on Wall Street where she excelled.
During her life she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, touring domestically and internationally with Monica Lewis, Joey Williams, and The Blind Boys of Alabama, which allowed her to attend several televised talk shows, award shows and other unbelievable events. Rhonda was an intelligent, kind hearted, and loving soul who loved helping others, even over the needs of her own.
She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband Martin Hughes, her fraternal twins, daughter Kiara Ross and son Khyre Ross, her brother Merrick Crocker, her daughter-in-law Brittany Taylor, her Grandsons Khyre Marquise Ross II and Keith Taylor, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Neices, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
