Robin was born in Queens, NY on May 7, 1958. She was the only baby girl of Celia Mae. Until her brothers came along, Robin was the babydoll of the family. She was spoiled rotten! From a young age, Robin was a caretaker and nurturer. She was the sole protector of her brothers, Gregory and Timothy. When the family moved to Bushwick, Brooklyn, Robin established a reputation as a protector of her friends and family. Throughout her childhood she developed lifelong friendships. Later in life, Robin graduated from Bushwick HIgh School, and attended BMCC - Borough of Manhattan Community College. Robin was a natural math wiz. She went on to pursue a career in banking. Her career led her to supervisory roles at Dime Savings Bank and later with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
While pursuing her career, Robin had her first daughter, Shaneka Lydia in 1982. Years later she married her childhood friend and love of her life, Michael Walsh in 1987. Robin and Michael welcomed another baby girl to the family, Michele Antoinette in 1988. Robin embraced motherhood and her natural ability as a caretaker/nurturer, and decided to stay home as a wife and mom to care for her family. While home, Robin also enjoyed taking care of her mother, Celia on a daily basis and later in life as her caretaker. Other than time at home with her family, Robin made First Baptist Church of Brownsville her spiritual home. She was loved immensely. She was a member of the Leading Ladies Women’s Fellowship and dedicated her time to various other commitments of the church.
Robin's character as a fighter would surface later in life as she battled with her health for more than 20 years. During her final days with us, she was surrounded by love. Her personal welcome party in heaven will include her mother, Celia Mae, her grandmother, Bessie Mae, and her father Samuel.
Robin is survived by her husband, Michael, daughters, Shaneka (son-in-law Michael) and Michele (son-in law Ryan), and granddaughter Surai. Her siblings Gregory and Timothy. And her niece, Taylor and nephews, Parys, Shane and Jordan (her personal heavenly angel).
